The Founder

Christy Punnett

Christy is the founder of Artemis Movement - A postural movement system that she developed to facilitate change and adaptation, enhance strength and structural stability and bring lasting somatic healing.

Christy was born on the island of Saint Vincent with its archipelago of islands that follow the lower line of the eastern Caribbean toward South America.

She has lived and worked in London England, Gaungzhou China and has loved traveling since her early twenties.

She is a human anatomy geek and immersive naturalist, just as happy in a dissection lab or on the deserted moors of her ancestral isles on the west coast of Scotland.

With an education background in Institutional Management she started studying and practicing wellness modalities in her early twenties whilst raising her three young daughters.

She leads retreats internationally, teaches online classes and in partnership with her teachers has created a studio space on the west coast of Barbados. She teaches and mentors the teachers of Artemis who span the globe from NZ, Mallorca, UK, T& T, Barbados to the US.

She is a Doula supporting the process of women through pregnancy, birth and after care and incorporates the aspect of support into the work of Artemis.

Her home is in Barbados with her young son, close to her family and doing work she loves. When she is not working, she will be cooking with her family, studying ancient history and philosophy and is currently writing secret travel blogs that may one day be published somewhere….

Jill Baker

Apprenticing Teacher

Canada

Jill established a career in health and wellness more than 30 years ago as a Shiatsu and Acupuncture Therapist. Always deeply curious and eager to help people feel better in their bodies, she later completed her first teacher training. She found ease blending her knowledge of anatomy, Eastern Medical Theory and hands-on modalities practice with mindful movement instruction. Ultimately she resolved teaching movement offered the greatest potential for long lasting change, a deep sense of well-being, and the space to continuously play. Through the years Jill’s practice has evolved, and discovering the power of Artemis Movement in her own body has felt like coming home. She wholeheartedly believes this is a practice for all ages, all bodies and all abilities and wishes to share so that others too can find their homecoming. Jill is ever grateful to Christy and all the teachers who have stepped into this practice before her, supporting her on the Artemis path. Jill lives in Canada in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by Mother Nature and all her wonders.
